Ramadan Kalender, by Lakeside Digital · Last updated 2026-10-06

The short version. Everything you enter into Ramadan Kalender is stored on your phone and is never sent to us. There is no account and no login. The app does not read from or write to Apple Health. It contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK. The only time data leaves your device is when you buy a subscription, which is handled by Apple or Google and by our payments provider, RevenueCat.

Who we are

Ramadan Kalender is published by Lakeside Digital. If you have a question about anything on this page, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and a person will answer.

Your data, stored on your device only

The app keeps everything you enter on your device, in the app’s own storage:

None of this is sent to us. There is no account and no server of ours; nothing is collected and nothing passes through a server of ours, because we do not have one.

Data handled by third-party services

Two services are involved: your phone's own map service, only when the app looks up the name of your city, and RevenueCat, only in connection with a purchase.

Location (prayer times and Qibla)

If you allow location access, the app reads your position on the device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. These calculations run entirely on your phone. While you use the app, it checks your position again when you open it, so the times follow you when you travel; it never asks for location in the background. To show the name of your city, the app asks the operating system's geocoding service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android), which receives your coordinates for that lookup: when you share your location, again when you have moved more than 25 km, and once more if an earlier lookup could not be completed. It returns the name of your city and your country; the country selects the calculation rule for the night prayer. We never receive your location. Without location access you can type the name of your city instead: the app sends the name you typed to the same geocoding service, which returns the coordinates of that city, its name and its country. On Android that service only answers once location access is allowed, so the app asks for it when you search; if you decline, the app looks the name up in a list of cities built into the app instead, and nothing you typed leaves your phone. The app then calculates with these coordinates and does not follow you when you travel. The built-in city list is based on data from GeoNames, licensed under CC BY 4.0.

RevenueCat (subscriptions)

When you start a free trial, buy a subscription, or tap “Restore”, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play, depending on your device. We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is valid and still active. For that, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated for your installation, the store transaction details for what you bought, and basic device and country information supplied by the store. It does not receive your name, your email address, or anything else listed above. RevenueCat acts as our processor. Their own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

On iPhone, Apple additionally provides RevenueCat with an Apple Ads attribution token where one exists, which tells us only whether an install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign. It is not linked to your identity, it is never combined with anything you enter in the app, and no advertising SDK is present in the app.

What the app does not do

Children

Ramadan Kalender is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Data retention

Because your entries never leave your phone, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Deleting the app removes them. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and by Apple or Google are retained under their own policies and for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information held about you, and to object to certain processing. In practice we hold almost nothing: your history is on your device only, and the purchase record is keyed to an anonymous identifier. If you want to exercise a right, or want the purchase record associated with your installation deleted, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and we will act on it. To manage or cancel a subscription itself, use Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or Payments & subscriptions in Google Play on Android.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be flagged in the app.
